The Bridgeport Rifle Club is a host for the Southwest Rifle League. This is a 3 position rifle league that meets on Tuesday evenings starting in early October. The league is a postal match between several different clubs in southwestern Connecticut. Each club fields its own team of competitors. Scores are sent in on a weekly basis and are recorded to detremine a winner at the end of the season.
All firing is done on the NRA/USA50 target at 50 feet. The course of fire is as follows:
● 10 rounds of prone
● 10 rounds of offhand
● 10 round of kneeling
There are no time limits and shooting can be done in any order. Either scopes or iron sights may be used. The league is open to all shooters who wish to join. The league registration fee is $15.00 dollars a year and $2.00 every week.
The Bridgeport Rifle Club has won this league several years. Most recently we have taken top honors for the 2006/2007 season and the 2009/2010 season.
